Chord Progressions

A chord progression is series of chords played in order. When we switch from one chord to another this is called transitioning. We will use our chords we learned from the Key of G Major for this section.

  • At first we will use down strokes only.
  • Trying to go to fast now will lead to frustration because you will have to pause your rhythm hand and wait for the fretting hand to make the chord transition. I suggest keeping a modest, steady pace with the strumming hand in order to give the chording hand a chance to make the transition in time enough so the strumming hand won't have to hesitate. This will sound, by far, more musical.
  • Strum the full chord, making sure all strings that are supposed to be ringing, are.

I feel this is a logical order of difficulty, but feel free to try them in any order.
