First (thinnest) string played open should sound the same as the fifth fret, second string.
Second string open sounds like third string, fourth fret.
Third string open sounds like fourth string, fifth fret.
Fourth string open sounds like fifth string, fifth fret.
Fifth string open sounds like sixth string, fifth fret.

Important Tip: Make sure when fretting , not to press to hard. This can cause the fretted note to go "sharp" or higher in pitch than desired. Press only as hard as neede to get a clear sounding note:)
