The 12 Bar Blues - Expanding the Pattern

You may have noticed that each chord, A, E or D in the 12 bar blues on the previous page is the same shape, just moved up or down to the next pair of strings. These variations can be used in the same way. Each variation can be moved up or down respective to which chord they are replacing. In these variations we'll take the simple 12 bar blues and fill it out a little with some extra notes to spice it up a bit. Listen to the examples please. I will play each of the examples "straight" and then with a "shuffle". You will notice the difference when you hear them played both ways.
